| Breaching - Is when Whales lunge themselves out of the water with great force, sometimes spinning in mid air before re-entry. It has been said that the whales do this as a source of navigation throughout their migration, to cummunicate with other whales nearby or just for a bit of fun when they are in a playful mood. |

| Spyhopping - Spyhopping is when a whale raises its head vertically out of the water with its mouth closed and its ventral plates contracted. spyhopping ususally occurs when the whale is stationary and they have their pectoral fins streched out beneath the surface. It has also been said that they tend to clear the water with either their pectoral fins or their tail before spyhopping as it creates circular window for them to see more clearly through the surface of the water. |

| Tail Extension - This is where the whales will slowly raise their tail vertically into the air and hover with their head below the suface. It is said that the whales do this for 2 reasons, 1 being to prevent unwanted attention from the opposite sex and 2 being to regulate their body temperature. |

| Pectoral Slap - Pectoral Slapping occurs when a whale with lift their fins out of the water and then slap them back down onto the surface of the water creating quiet a large splash. The whales can do this just once, or sometimes they continuously do this for extensive periods of time. |

| Tail Throw - This is when the whales throw their rear portion of their bodies from the water, and striking the water surface with great force, generally twisting their bodies in all different directions to create a much stonger impact. This is defiantely one of the most aggresive behavioural patterns of the humpback. |
