A passenger's report:

Dolphin Wild Cruises and Jervis Bay Eco Adventures have done it again! I hopped on board yesterday for another eco tour: this time it included swimming and snorkelling at a secluded beach!

The excitement began as we left the wharf at Huskisson NSW: the boat was full of happy families and couples, many of whom were leafing through the large, beautiful keepsake brochures they’d been given. The skilful crew soon found not only dolphins, but also a fairy penguin and even a fur seal!

“Well, this is a treat!” announced our skipper, Brendan. “It’s very early in the season for a seal to be in the middle of the bay.”

Brendan explained that two natural seal colonies live just past the headlands. He provided fascinating information about seals, penguins and dolphins, and happily answered our questions. As a return passenger of Dolphin Wild Cruises and Jervis Bay Eco Adventures, it never ceases to impress me how knowledgeable the friendly crew all are.

After the unhurried dolphin, penguin and seal sightings we headed straight for the white sands of Long Beach.

“Oh my goodness! The water is SO clean!” gasped Kapindra, a tourist from Sydney. She was enjoying the experience with her extended family.

We all disembarked comfortably, and thrilled in a relaxing and luxurious visit of this stunning beach. Dolphin Wild Cruises and Jervis Bay Eco Adventures provided ample snorkelling gear which my young daughter, Emma, took full advantage of. She and a number of others headed straight for the recommended snorkelling spot nearby.

“Mum!! There are SO many fish!” Emma called out happily. Two baby stingrays had also been sighted, creating further excitement.

All the other passengers, young and old, were having fun each in their own way: swimming, playing in the surf, making a sandcastle, sunning themselves, or enjoying a romantic stroll along the beach.

Back on the boat and returning to Huskisson after a perfect day, Kapindra told me she’d be back. “This was such a unique experience,” she said. “My whole family has enjoyed this!”
